More than 200 lawyers, judges, public leaders and youth attended the MY HERO AWARDS event on July 28th in Chicago.
Note: Volunteers are needed as leaders, donors, and to host programs like the LEND A HAND in companies and professional associations throughout the country. Nov. 2005 e-Conference continues to draws visitors

Tutor/Mentor Leadership e-Conference, held from Nov. 17 to Nov. 30 drew 297 views to the discussions posted on line! While the conference is officially over, the conversations have remained on-line for others to read and add their own comments. More than 300 additional page views have been recorded.

No Child Left Behind, The Rest of the Story

On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, July 18, 19 and 20, 2004, the Chicago Tribune devoted half its front page, plus full inside pages of the first section of the paper to a Special Report: No Child Left Behind. The focus of this series was on "One Girl's Struggle to find a Future". You may still be able to find this story in the archives of the on-line Chicago Tribune at http://www.chicagotribune.com It did a great job of drawing attention to the challenges faced by kids living in innercity neighborhoods.
However, it did not tell The Rest of the Story

The Tutor/Mentor Connection organizes on-going activities to help all tutor/mentor programs get visibility, volunteers and donors. The Volunteer Recruitment Campaign in August and September is one of these efforts.
