By nsbyrer @ 4:36 PM :: 2009 Views :: :: Technology |
This is an article written and submitted to the Tutor/Mentor Connection (T/MC) by Professor Edna Aphek, Jerusalem, Israel. The T/MC believes that every tutor/mentor program has the potential to be a technology center with programs similar to what are described in this article. It just takes a vision from volunteers, leaders, donors and youth to make this possible

Content: How Many Programs are needed? Where are they needed most?
By nsbyrer @ 4:35 PM :: 1366 Views ::  |
Every day in America, a child's life is needlessly lost. Some die by bullets. Some by abuse. Some by neglect. Too many die from lost hope because America has not provided the tools, education, adult support and resources.
Note: Our vision is that some day in the future when a journalist reports a story, he/she will automatically end it with web links that point to "The Rest of the Story". Such a strategy will lead people from negative news to positive actions that change the future for kids living in poverty. Join the media strategies discussion group and share your ideas for how to make this a reality.

Faith-based tutoring/mentoring strategies that any group can benefit from
By nsbyrer @ 4:34 PM :: 3372 Views :: :: Planning |
One person trained twelve human beings who went on to so influence the world that time itself is now recorded as being before (B.C.) or after (A.D.) his existence.
This quote was taken from the introduction of the book "Jesus, CEO: Using Ancient Wisdom for Visionary Leadership", written by Laurie Beth Jones and published by Hyperion.It shows how much power one person has to change the world. We hope it inspires church leaders to use there communications systems to change the future for millions of at-risk youth throughout America, and the world.
Note: Faith based leaders are encouraged to launch a discussion forum on this web site to innovate strategies that engage more faith leaders in the evangelism needed to make comprehensive, volunteer-based tutor/mentor programs available in more places.

Using Maps to Plan More Effective War on Poverty and Global Terrorism
By nsbyrer @ 4:33 PM :: 1658 Views :: :: Planning |
To media, foundation leaders, philanthropists, CEOs, faith leaders, polititians, deep thinkers, etc.
Since 1993 the Tutor/Mentor Connection (T/MC) has been attempting to build a GIS mapping capacity and to make it an available tool for any leader to use in developing strategies that help kids living in urban poverty get the resources they need to help them succeed in school and life. While some have responded positively to this, we're still a voice in the wilderness and depend mostly on volunteers to do our work.
Note: Read about the Tutor/Mentor Connection's GIS strategy. Join the GIS discussion forum and become a partner in our effort to create an interactive GIS that teaches volunteers, donors and business partners to choose where to deliver help based on where the need is greatests, what organizations are in those areas, and where the company does business.
