The May 19 and 20 Tutor/Mentor Leadership and Networking Conference will be held this week. While we are stretched thin to pull the conference together, we've found that we now have a major problem editing the links in the T/MC Library and Chicago Programs area.
We're holding the May Conference in the South Suburbs at Victory Apostolic Church in Matteson, Il. The attendance is lower than when we are able to host the conference in the city but we know that it only takes two or three people to make a huge impact. Thus, we have enough people registered for that to happen. Visit http://www.tutormentorconference.org to see information.
If you cannot attend the conference join us on line at http://tutormentorconnection.ning.com.
Our bigger problem is going to be fixing the web site library. The platform on which we've built the library is no longer being hosted by Dot Net Nuke. Moving to a new platform will change all of the links that we have pointing to this information from our blogs other web sites and other social media. Because the T/MC is operating with few dollars, fixing all of this in a short period of time will be very difficult.
For the next 3-6 months we don't expect much erosion in the quality of the links on this site. Hopefully we'll find a new solution by the fall so that the Tutor/Mentor Connection can continue to support all of those who want to help inner city youth connect with mentors and learning in the non-school hours.
Finding some philanthropic investors, college or business partners or being adopted by a few faith communities would really help as we look at an uncertain future.
