The Giraffe Project conducts a nation-wide search for individuals who stick their necks out to make life better for everyone else. You probably know a few. They also have a great program that youth organizations and schools might use to create a few new Giraffes.  Daniel F. Bassill, President of the Tutor/Mentor Connection, was named a Giraffe in 1997.  You can nominate your Heros to be Giraffes, too.
