This is an excellent site for information on all aspects of literacy. The Adult Literacy section has lists of online sources, scholarly articles, a link to a newspaper that can be used as a teaching tool, and one of my favorite features, a link to weekly writing from an adult student. Narratives and creative writing from adult students seem like excellent motivators for volunteers and learners alike, because they provide concrete, real-world examples of obstacles that can be, and are, overcome.
