Use this search page and the interactive map of Chicago to determine if there are any organizations offering volunteer based tutoring and/or mentoring in specific zip codes. You can also use this map to build collaborations among businesses, non profits, faith groups and other institutions and leaders who focus on the same parts of the Chicago region.
Note: This Chicago Tutor/Mentor Program Locator was developed between 2004 and 2008 as part of the Tutor/Mentor Connection's effort to draw volunteers and donors to tutor/mentor programs in every poverty neighborhood of the city. Due to lack of funds the site has not been updated since 2013. It still serves as a model, and you can still create map stories to focus on neighborhoods. If you'd like to help with updating with a goal of applying this in your own city, use the 'contact us' feature on this site to introduce yourself.
