Girls Defining Their Voices
Girls are provided with numerous media platforms to strengthen their communication skills & define their voice.

A Polished Pebbles mentee, Deneen Borner, developed a strong voice through Polished Pebbles and was invited to introduce the First Lady Michelle Obama at the 2011 National Mentoring Summit.

Polished Pebbles:
A program with IMPACT

We may be a young agency, but we have experienced ambitious growth patterns and success in less than 4 years.

Since 2009, we have...
  • Served over 500 girls via 15 program sites with the support of 300+ volunteers
  • Leveraged over $550K of professional volunteer support, resources, and excursions for the girls & communities we've served

We measure IMPROVEMENT
UChicago Charter School, Donoghue Campus, reports significant reduction in behavioral infractions for girls participating in Polished Pebbles:
  • 100% of girls report improved ability to successfully apply conflict resolution and anger management skills after participating
  • 87% of girls hold leadership positions in one of their school/community clubs after participating
  • Polished Pebbles girls exceeded standards on the Employability and Life Skills Assessment (ELSA)
  • Parents report significant improvements in daughters' communication skills, ability to speak with respect towards others, and behaving more responsibly at home after participating

We couldn't do it without YOU

In order to keep seeing improvements and impacting young girls' lives, we need continued support from you! In the spirit of giving this Holiday Season, please consider donating $25 or more to Polished Pebbles' Girls Mentoring Program. Your help will not go unnoticed. THANK YOU!
