Thank you for visiting the Tutor/Mentor Connection.  We know from page views that many people are browsing the various discussion forms and sections of the links library, but we don't have many people posting their own ideas and information.

We have limited the ability for that to happen, so that only subscribers can post, and all posts are moderated, in order to reduce spam, and keep the focus on the issues this web site is created to support. Thus, we know that reduces some interaction.

However, if you've made it this far, tell us what you find useful on the site, and what might encourage you to become a more active participant.

Note:  if you want to criticize how complex and difficult the site is to use, that's fair, but then you 'd need to help us find volunteers and donors so we can manage the site more aggressively, or move to a new web site that is easier to navigate.  Right now we host this information with very limited set of talent and resources.

Would be great to have an option to add additional forum topics. I'd like to post something about the ways my organization, iMentor, is celebrating National Mentoring Month. But I don't quite see a place where such a post would fit.

Thank you for maintaining this forum. It's a great resource!

Thanks. I've known iMentor and Caroline Kim for many years. If you have a new topic in mind for the forum, just suggest it, and I can probably add it. I'd like to see a discussion focusing on eMentoring, and ways place based programs might use some of the eMentoring concepts. You can also submit an article on this site to tell about what iMentor does. I have a couple of people who post monthly, so I created a category for them to put their articles. Sort of like regular contributors. Finally, I've also created a forum on http://tutormentorconnection.ning.com because that offers much more flexibility for people to create their own identity and to launch discussions. I hope these ideas help. Dan

Fantastic!  Thank you, Dan.  We'd be happy to begin a discussion about online mentoring and provide more details about iMentor's work in NYC and nationally.

You'll be hearing from us shortly!
