On the home page of this web site there is a "Quick Links" box that points to other web sites of the Tutor/Mentor Connection. I encourage you to browse these. One points to the Program Locator, which is a searchable database of volunteer-based tutor/mentor programs in the Chicago region.
In the Program Locator you can also find a map gallery, with maps of Chicago showing poverty concentrations, locations of poorly performing schools, and locations of businesses, churches, colleges and faith groups who could be working together in the same zip code to make more and better tutor/mentor programs available.
Another link goes to the Conference web site, which now has an archive of attendees from the past three conferences (May 2007, Nov. 2007, May 2008). You can browse this to see who attended, and to send an introduction. We hope people use this to build their own networks and make a bigger difference in the lives of disadvantated youth.
The web site links sections are interactive. This means you can rate the sites, add new sites, and help us build a constantly improving library of information that can be used by anyone in the world to build a network of career-focused, volunteer-based tutor/mentor programs in any major city in the world. |
