Here are some of the general comments on the Evaluation Form.
- It was great and diverse conference. All the speakers were well spoken and interesting. Very impressed by Dr. Bennie Lee Harris and what he had to share with us
TMC note: watch for announcement of on-line video with Dr. Harris's comments.
- Speakers full of energy and willing to share their own & other's success, accomplishments, experiences.
- I liked the part during lunch that we could go up front and speak
- Overall, very good and helpful
- Would like more opportunities for group work and networking
TMC note: attend the May 07 conference, which will have breakout sessions and encourage more of this type of group work and networking than what was possible in the Nov. 30 format.
- Good idea to get people involved. The research presentation was good. Dr. DuBois is a good speaker.
- I enjoyed the conference. I think every organization should have information given in the sessions. Would be ideal for success.
- This was very inspiring. Thank you for your dedication.
- Sessions gave me a better understanding of the challenges, success, inner workings of tutor/mentor programs.
- The discussion of research is helpful to lay a foundation of why we do what we do and helps to bring perspective and identify unique challenges of urban public schools.
- Great opportunity to find out about resource attainment and networking, but especially being ? into the research.
- Need concrete ways to utilize (infiltrate) Chamber of Commerce, neighborhood orgs, police depts, churches and other systemic places for volunteers and other supports.
In addition to these comments, many participants wanted more opportunities to interact with each other and with speakers, more networking time, and more breaks between sessions. T/MC note: The May 2007 conference will revert to the format of previous conferences, with 5-7 breakout sessions per time frame, and plenty of time for networking. |
