 Alert | The T/MC links library has a section of links that illustrate how people are beginning to use technology to facilitate a group's understanding of complex problems. My invitation to people who visit this site is:
a) introduce the T/MC to the people who have their ideas represented in these web sites. Offer the T/MC as a practical application of their science, and a teach tool where students can learn to apply the science, or where a company, like Ventana, can demonstrate the power of its products and sevices
b) create a discussion group that invites key players to map a network of thinkers and actors who might be involved with the Tutor/Mentor Connection, and in recuiting manpower and resources to apply the lessons learned in building community supports
c) add new links and use this discussion forum to tell whay you think they are important and how they can be used
If someone who already is familiar with this type of thinking makes a persistent effort to invite these leaders to apply their thinking to the work we'll do, some will join us and the road maps they create will make it possible for a flood of others to join in the T/MC process

Problems that are wicked, as opposed to tame, do not yield to the traditional "scientific" approach to problem solving, which is to gather data, analyze the data, formulate a solution and implement the solution. With a wicked problem your understanding of the problem is evolving as you work on a solution.
4 http://www.iseesystems.com/ Systems Thinking software like STELLA and iThink is an increasingly valuable tool for constructing understanding about all kinds of dynamic systems from natural environments to team dynamics to economic markets.

Alert | Today I've added links to the Helping America's Youth web site in several different sections of the T/MC site. That's because the web site can be used to locate youth serving organizations, do a community needs assessment, and has a wealth of knowledge that people can use to solve community problems. Helping America's Youth has been holding regional and national conferences since 2005 and the archives of presentations are on-line at in a Community Guide section of the web site. Using the drop down menu you can find links to seven conferences, such as the regional conference in Portland in Feb. 2008. Seems like a useful resource for on-line learning.
