Each year the Tutor/Mentor Connection invites other organizations to work together to increase public visibilityand involvement in volunteer-based tutoring/mentoring programs. While this campaign focuses on Chicago, our intention is that people from other cities participate in this forum and use our planning to organize a parallel volunteer recruitment strategy in their own communities.

Currently the Volunteer Recruitment planning is hosted in a Yahoo eGroup. I'd like to invite everyone interested to participate in this forum where we have more collaboration and interaction tools available to each of us.

While we are setting up this new portal, we'll continue to maintain information about the campaign in the Volunteer Recruitment section of [http://www.tutormentorexchange.net/Partner/CC/RecruitmentCampaign/recruitment.asp]

Please join and take an active role in this process. WE means all of us. It means business leaders, not just volunteer recruitment managers. This campaign can make a difference if just a handful of organizations build this into their own strategy for volunteer recruitment and retention.

Today we held the conference and I hope that some who attended will take part in the volunteer recruitment campaign.
