Rather than add another conference section to this list, I've decided to recycle former conferences. All of the messages earlier than this one related to the Tutor/Mentor Leadership and Networking Conference held in May 2006.
All of the messages from now until mid June will relate to the next conference, which will be held at the Northwestern University School of Law, in Chicago, on May 29 and 30, 2008. The web site is http://www.tutormentorconference.org . I encourage you to visit and consider taking a role in the conference, and in the goals of the T/MC.

Margot Pritzker, CEO of http://www.womenoncall.org will be the keynote speaker of the Tutor/Mentor Leadership and Networking Conference during the noon hour on May 29. As a leading advocate for volunteersm, Ms. Pritzker has created a web portal to encourage busy professionals to volunteer meaningful talent to support non profit organizations. Her example is a model of how other leaders in business and civic affairs can support volunteerism.
If you would like to present a workshop on May 29 or 30, use the presenter form on the http://www.tutormentorconference.org web site. |

Visit the conference web site to see the workshop descriptions and list of speakers and panelists who have already committed being part of the May 29 and 30 conference. The registration is now open. When you register, you can check to have your name and program listed in the attendee list. This will enable other people to see who plans to attend the conference, and to make arrangements to meet with people they would want to meet at the conference.
If you are a speaker or panelist, please use the registration form to fill in your contact information and be listed on the attendee list. Speakers do not pay to attend the conference, so in the form, just click any of the payment forms, so that the form will go through. In the comment section, say "speakers".
If you'd like a scholarship, just fill out the registration form and say "scholarship". We automatically grant these.

The Tutor/Mentor Leadership and Networking Conference will be tomorrow and Friday, May 29 and 30. While I hope there is good networking and learning at the conference, I also hope that some of those who join us in Chicago this week, along with others who only join us via this web site, will take an active role in creating discussions and interaction on this space, and in other forums such as http://tutormentorconnection.ning.com

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2-day conference in Chicago. I know there was good networking and the workshops and keynote speakers were appreciated. This is a grassroots conference, and everyone who did a workshop or made a speach, volunteered their time.
If you have comments, or want to discuss a topic that came up at the conference, we encourage you to use this forum, or to start a discussion in the http://tutormentorconnection.ning.com forum.
