CommonAction is excited to announce the availability of the brand-new Washington Youth Voice Handbook. This 150+ page publication provides a clear map to the essentials of Youth Voice, including "What, Why, Where, When, and How" Youth Voice happens in diverse communities across Washington State. More than 50 programs, schools, and organizations are featured.
The Handbook also includes 20+ Youth Voice workshop outlines that are carefully designed to increase the knowledge and ability of young people and adults; a Youth Voice Assessment exploring multiple aspects of action; the Washington Youth Voice Directory including contact information for more than 50 groups statewide, and; a Youth Voice Resource Guide highlighting organizations, websites, and publications across the country and around the world.
Because of spectacular support from the Washington State Office of Supertintendent of Public Instruction, CommonAction is able to offer this great new resource FREE online! You are invited to download the Handbook as a PDF, and to share this email with any of your contacts who you think should know about it.
PLEASE HELP US SPREAD THE WORD by forwarding this email, scheduling a workshop, or booking us to speak at your next gathering! Thank you for your support.

Can you tell us about some of the youth organizations who are using the Youth Voices handbook?

Thanks for asking! CommonAction is using the Washington Youth Voice Handbook to create partnerships with youth-serving organizations across our state in order to foster the movement for youth engagement. Some of the different groups we are working with include local government agencies in Everett and Spokane; community youth agencies including the Metrocenter YMCA in Seattle and Project Service Leadership in Vancouver; and schools like Langley Middle School on Whidbey Island. We've also shared the Handbook with a variety of organizations across the U.S., including programs in New York State, schools in Florida, and national organizations based in Washington, D.C. Finally, we have also been promoting the Washington Youth Voice Handbook through a loose international network committed to youth engagement. In the past month since we've announced the availability of the Handbook it has been downloaded more than 5,000 times. That is exciting, and we take it as a bright indication of the future of the Youth Voice movement!
