Many people had introduced themselves in this portal before we moved to a new platform. Below I've posted names and web site links so you can connect with these people.

Oct. 6, 2005 - Barb Englund, Executive Director of NET at TWO RIVERS. Developed a software available on the World Wide Web called "Follow the Yellow Brick Road E-Mentoring" or FYBR located at http://www.fybr.org.

Oct. 10, 2005 - Kristen Palana, Assistant Professor of Art at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ. In June, 2004 Kristen started a website called Aura's House at http://www.aurashouse.com to help a family in Guatemala get a safe, sturdy brick home. To date my students, friends, and volunteers have helped run the site and we have raised over $12,000 for needy familes in Guatemala, Honduras, and now India, and Zambia.

Dec. 10, 2005 - Denis Rigdon. Project HOPE, 1911 Woodlawn, Cape Girardeau, MO. Project HOPE is a faith-based mentoring program that has morphed into rural and some urban social ministry coordination and work for access to resources for our participants. We've developed a relationship with 70+ different faith congregations and have been instrumental in the mentor training of over 700 mentors, who normally work in teams to help others struggling in life to reach personal and spiritual success.

March 3, 2006 - Ariane Lee. I am the eLearning and Technology Coordinator for the Tutor/Mentor Connection. I recently returned from the Peace Corps where I worked as a Technology Educator in West Africa. One of my long-term goals with the Tutor/Mentor Connection is to the increase the activity on this forum and get more people involved.

Sept. 20, 2005 - My name is Ana Llorens I have been working at Cabrini Connections (http://www.cabriniconnections.net) for about 5 years. As a parent and student, I truly believe that Cabrini Connections is on the right path on fighting poverty. Without a network of people and programs that can help children fight this ugly disease this cycle will continue

Hello, I'm Julie Hamilton and I have been involved with Cabrini Connections since 1995. I started as an intern while in grad school at NIU. Dan needed some help with creating a Geographic Information System (GIS), and found NIU. I worked with some other grad students to create some basic maps and build the base layers of the GIS. In February 1996, I became an employee of the TMC and started to build and support the GIS. In September 1996 I left the TMC to work for a private IT company, however I still continued to maintain the GIS. After a few years, I found a colleague to take over my GIS responsibilities.

I did keep in touch with the organization by becoming a tutor for a few students and a board member. I've taken this year off from tutoring and hope to return in the fall. I am currently the board secretary.

I still keep in touch with my past students (who have either graduated from high school or moved onto other programs). I encourage everyone to find a way to work with the students from time to time to remind ourselves while we are part of this organization.

I look forward to working and talking with others in this group.

Hullo I am Dennis Owachgiu, A computer scientist in Uganda, I am a founder member of a youth Organisation, Macho Youth Leadership Development Foundation operating here in Uganda, east Africa.

This site uniquely suports us in a way, because its priciples of mentoring youth are just like our own. We mentor youth on leadeship related issues, we envision a generation of leaders who are selfless, open minded, well informed and innovative enough to deliver the much needed development our country needs.

Our Advocacy revolves around inspiring and formation of communities in which students come together to discuss their own isues through debates, and Online discusion boards (we are still in the proccess of getting a website) and since some children in the rural do not hhave the oportunity to access the internet, there is a special schedule of debates that we organise on weekends at it has been going on fine, the past topics for the children's debates included HIV/AIDS, Reconciliation and Forgiveness for The Rebels, Childrens Rights and Such similar ones.

We just held afew last year but its a starting ground where we can start on and advance from there, we can not despite such hummble beginnings.
The struggle continues, we just founded the organistion last year so we are obviously new in the field and would rely on advices from experienced personalities, spo if you got any opinion on how we can help our youths then we are more than ready to recieve them. owachgiu@linuxmail.org

Our Organistion awaits to benefit from the generosity of idea sharing with friends on this network.
