Hello Everyone!
My name is Nicole White and starting July 9th, I will be working with Cabrini Connection, Tutor/Mentor Connection as a fellow through the Northwestern University Public Interest Program Fellowship. The fellowship is in its second year at Northwestern, but there are similar fellowships at many universities such as Princeton or University of Chicago. The Public Interest Program Fellowship, or PIP as we affetionately call it, matches graduating seniors with non-profits in the Chicagoland area that are in the general spectrum of the public interest or, more specifically, geared towards "initiating social change." That was how I became connected to Cabrini Connection as the Assistant Program Coordinator for the upcoming year.
A little about me: I'm was born and raised in Eugene, OR, which is where I became interested in community activism and organizing, especially in the realm of education. I attended Northwestern University, where I majored in French and International Studies and studied abroad in Paris for my junior year. After graduation, I decided that I wanted to stay in Chicago and do something in the Public Interest sector with an emphasis on education and that's why both the NUPIP fellowship and Cabrini Connection seemed like a natural fit.
I am so thrilled to be working for such an amazing organization and I invite all of you to read my blog:

which will detail my work in the upcoming year.
I look forward to meeting and working with all of you in the upcoming year!
