The purpose of the YIC Mentoring Program is to provide youth with a satisfying, youth-centered, and emotionally engaging individual (one-on-one) relationship with an adult volunteer. The program focuses on low-income youth, ages 10-14, from single parent or dual working parent homes. Through involvement in activities with a mentor in the following areas; cultural, recreational, education, and volunteer service, youth will feel more self-confident, improve their social skills, and broaden their perspectives.
