Girl Scouts is for girls. We believe in them, support them, and advocate for them.
With all the distressing news that is written about today's children, it is reassuring to know that there are many girls who are doing good things for themselves and others. There are girls who are already contributing to society.
Who are these girls and who is mentoring them?
They are Girl Scouts who are guided and encouraged by a group of volunteers - the backbone of Girl Scouting. At Girl Scouts - Illinois Crossroads Council we have more than 10,000 adult volunteers. Some are troop/group leaders, mentors, while others are Alumni Girl Scouts, VISTA team members, and even short-term volunteers. Each, in their own way, is helping today's girls grow strong to become tomorrow's leaders.
