With the recent addition of the Bishop Dempsey Center, Sankofa is introducing reading and math tutoring. This tutoring program is different from the others because it is designed to meet people where they are (Students advance at their own PACE). Upon starting the class, there is a reading and math assessment test along with a learning style test because everyone has their unique way of learning. The test determines whether a person will be in the beginner, intermediate or advanced group. Students also set their own goals because we believe that if you don’t know where you’re going you won’t know how to get there. We will also provide preparation for the SAT and ACT college exams as well as for the GED exam.
