Christopher House runs  weekly tutoring programs for students in grades 1 - 12.  Serving about 50  students, the program strives to improve students' academic performance, placing a special emphasis on math and reading skills.  The program relies on the commitment of dedicated volunteers who are able to build a relationship with the student, promoting an atmosphere where learning is enjoyable and students are encouraged to reach their full potential.  Volunteers are paired one-on-one with students for one-hour tutoring sessions two days a week during the school year.  There is also summer tutoring available for those tutors who wish to continue volunteering throughout the year.  This is a very rewarding opportunity for anyone interested in making a significant difference in the life of a child.  Opportunities are available at our Uptown location on Mondays/Wednesdays and our Lincoln Park location Tuesdays/Thursdays.  All tutors must be at least 18.
