Chase23 Youth Empowerment Mentoring Program

Cops & Kids Chess Initiative - Chicago
From the web site: "The Chicago Public Schools and Renaissance Knights Chess Foundation, in partnership with the Chicago Police Department, developed the Cops & Kids Chess initiative as a year-round after-school program for elementary and high school students which includes a tournament with police officers and student players. The program is intended to promote non-violence and increase positive relationships with youth and police officers while utilizing the game of chess as the vehicle for engagement."

I Am We: Inspiring Chicago - Chicago Voices
From the web site: "Mission: To inspire, empower and promote community engagement in underserved communities and the greater Chicagoland area through the medium of storytelling, art programming, advocacy and strategic partnerships.

Chicago Voices is a co-ed, digital storytelling program that introduces students to the fundamentals of filmmaking, communication, and literary development. This is a co-ed program, ages 12-14 (middle school) and 14-18 (high school)." This is one of several programs offered at schools and community based organizations in Chicago.

Math Motivators Tutoring Program -
This program was launched in Conneticut and came to Chicago in 2017. It operates in one school thus far. Here's a description from the web site: "The Math Motivators program relies solely on professional actuaries and college student volunteers. The students served do not have access to tutoring, or cannot afford it. The Math Motivators Program provides math tutoring in the high schools, free of charge."

Profound Gentlemen of Color - engages Black Male Educators
This is a national organization with a Chicago branch. See this description on the web site: "Profound Gentlemen is committed to supporting boys and male educators of color in the Chicago community. In collaboration with the Chicago Teacher’s Union Foundation, we are able to provide free support services to focus in retaining male educators of color. In addition, through our educators who lead mentoring groups, we will be creating a cradle to career pipeline for boys of color. Together our efforts will strengthen a community and an everlasting impact."

Big Shoulders Fund - Stock Market Program
From the web site: "Big Shoulders Fund developed the Stock Market Program to bring business professionals into eighth grade classrooms to teach basic concepts related to the stock market, investing, and careers in business. Under the leadership of Big Shoulders Fund Directors Charlie Bobrinskoy and Jim Hoeg, students in the program build a virtual portfolio tied to actual financial incentives for their school. Starting with 12 schools back in 2007, the program has expanded to 46 schools for the 2014-2015 school year."

Bounce for Joy Project
From the web site: "Our program is an adult-supervised mentors in art, fitness and stem activities mobile program. BFJP concept is delivered on-site in schools, summer camps, churches and community centers, which we provide 6 or 8 weeks three component program. The program includes mentoring art, fitness internship, and college prep for ages 16-18 that challenge youth.

BFJP mentor and arts programs educate youth on how to relieve stress and anger. We raise awareness of solutions on early intervention in stress relief, anxiety and anger management."

Camp of Dreams After School Program
From the web site: "Camp of Dreams is designed for underserved youth and aims to offer the life-skills that will enable these children to successfully meet the challenges they face in everyday life. Driven and Empowered Youth

Femi Memorial Outreach - Tutoring Program
From the web site: "Femi Memorial Outreach offers an elementary and middle school after-school homework/tutoring program to students needing specific support in Math and/or English. Tutoring is also available to improve difficulties in other school subjects or as a private session. In addition, tutors serve as mentors for social skill development to improve academic success.

Current tutors are Loyola University undergraduate or graduate students from different academic concentrations who have experience in tutoring, with children or teaching experience. Student tutors receive a federal work-study subsidy. There is no charge for tutoring to the students needing after-school assistance.

M3C Mentoring Program - for students at M3C Academy in Austin area
From the web site: "Manufacturing Career and College Connect (M3C) program is available to all students at Austin College and Career Academy (formally Austin Polytechnical Academy) for 1 school year, twice a month.
